Hi all
I am new to keeping snakes and have recently got a 5 year old Florida King (Gomez ).
He shed recently but has a ring of old skin still around one of his eyes.
Can anyone give me any advice as to whether this will go naturally or will I need to do something about it, and if so what?
Anyu assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

If it's a retained eye cap it's unwise to leave it really, but it depends how easy it is to get it off?
If you think you can do it safely and simply, then you can try to use a damp cotton bud on it to see if you can lift it up and off. If not, best go and see either a decent shop owner, someone with a lot of experience or a vet who should be able to get it off for you.
Bathing your snake may help too. |

I don't think it's an eye cap, it looks like it's circling the eye. He is not eating either, whould that be the reason? |

It does look like a retained eyecap to me. I would try and get it off. |
