With proper care they can live up to 20 years. As with viv size I'd say you would be ok with a 36"x18"x18".
I'd recommend that you read the care sheets on this site. Some very good info there. |

kings are quite an active species and not stressed by space so i'd probably go for a 3-4' viv, and expect another 10-15 years with him |

Hi, I am just about to collect a 5 month old Florida King Snake. This is my 1st snake. Initially it is coming in a small plastic tank (probably 18 inches long by 9 inches wide). At what point do I move it to its new viv? and does it matter whether I get the 3 or 4 foot viv by 24 or 18 inches? I note your comments earlier re these snakes being ok with alot of space.
Also, will this snake be ok with my kids who are 9 and 5, if I get the snake out each time?
Finally how long will I need to leave the snake before handling after purchasing it? |
