We came home from work tonight and found Jake had escaped from his tank We are fearing the worst because the bedroom door has been left open. We hope he hasn't gone far but we have searched high and low, we've even took the floor up! We hope he's ok he's our little baby

:( im sad to hear that... make sure you check the nearest things to the viv that look like a snake would want to hide in there, such as bags etc... Hope you find him soon :(

have you tried the old bottle trap and flour tricks? and make sure to leave some water that he can get to... dehydration is likely to be more of a problem than starvation... good luck

Don't fear the worst just yet, I've heard stories of snakes being found safe and well up to 2 years after escaping.

I've currently got an escapee in the house and the best advice is to check everything - don't throw big bags out without looking in them first, check the pockets of washing before it goes in the washer, check your shoes before you put them on etc and he should turn up eventually.

We have got water containers down in every room just in case.

Plus anywhere warm is the most likely hiding spots - behind radiators, inside the computer, behind the fridge etc.

Good Luck!

As has been said, all is not yet lost. maybe it would be worth trying putting the flour in a line across doorways, at least you could find which room to check?

I thought about that but because there's always someone in the house and the dog is usually upstairs he may not be moving from room to room we're looking out for poop and we've dotted handfuls of his bedding on our floor with his cave and log to see if he wants to come in and hide in them. Thank you all for your concern and tips, i knew his curiosity would get him in trouble one day! [:d]
