| Hello we are Jo and Danny from Yorkshire and we bought our black and white banded cali king snake Jake last weekend and was interested in speaking with other king snake owners :) he's almost 3 months old now and roughly 13'' long (or short!) We hope he grows up to 5ft will the size of th viv affect this? I know a king can happily live in a 3ft viv but we was going to get a 4ft, when he is fully grown of course :) well anyway hello to you all! |

Hi and welcome. Where in Yorkshire are you from? As for the viv size only time will tell, if your snake gets over 4' then a 4' viv would probably be OK but if you put him in when he's too small all of that space may make him feel insecure and stop eating.
It sounds as though you're asking if you put him in a bigger viv will he grow bigger? The answer is no, he will simply grow to be the size he will grow to be.
Welcome once again and make sure you put up some pics when he's nicely settled in |

| thanks for the welcome :) we are from Hull in the east. Jake is in a 2ft viv at the mo, we wont be moving him until he gets bigger of course so we dont stress him out. At about what age are they fully grown and we could move him to a bigger viv? |

Probably at about 2-3 years? Depending on how fast he grows. I would class a snake as an adult at 5-6 years, but they are breedable from 3 years so don't grow much bigger after that.
