Hi, i'm picking my goins up soon and have been researching a bit more about where they're from etc but there doesn't seem to be that much info out there on them and not even that many photos.
Was just wondering if anyone knew how exactly the goins came about? I know they're from Florida and some people have suggested a naturally occurring cross between Eastern and Florida or are they just a subspecies in their own right? (Though i think the person in the shop said brooks x florida which i'm not sure is right)
Also, i'm getting a blaze phase, i'm guessing this refers to the locality not a morph as it is a 'phase'? Anyone know if this is right? And is there any real difference in their colouring/pattern, my little one looks very red, redder than 'normal' goins at that age i have seen pics of and with a lot less black patches/blotches but i know how variable goins are so was just wondering if there are any definite differences?

They had me confused a bit too. I have a Florida that looks like some that are Goins and Brooks. AFAIK they are all individual King Snake sub-species and not crosses. Differences are mainly size and location.

Ahhh right, thanks!
Nice website too, only problem with it is that it says goins are from Middlesex, England and i'm sure that's not true haha |

Question about Goins
