When we got my daughter's little tiddler cali king last month, the first night in its faun it went bonkers cos it could see itself in the side of the tank.
Last night I was carrying my adult cali past a massive mirror that's being temporarily stored in my back room and she went swerving sideways to her reflection, then did the exact same thing the little one had done- she was following her reflection really closely, and waggling about like mad looking at herself.I watched her doing it for a bit but then took her away from it cos she seemed to be getting quite agitated...

Anybody else seen this behaviour? or do we just own very vain snakes??

Kingsnakes are cannibals so it's no wonder they get agitated when they see their reflection.

Mine takes no interest in mirrors at all. When I have any of my snakes out, they just slide past or try to climb the frame/ glass.

Ouch, I would be so freaked if mine did that! Can't imagine trying to get his tail out his gob, I had a mini heart attack when I was picking aspen out when he decided to fall off a branch, attack himself and miss and end up with a gob full of substrate *_*
