I just noticed a tiny little bright red blob on Julian's feeding dish today, and my first thoughts were "Oh crap, it's a mite."
I've been reading about them, and I don't think they get to this shade of bright red (literally about this colour) but I thought I'd better ask just in case. It could be a mite, or maybe it could just be something that fell off/out of a mouse on his last feed.

I've had a quick look, I can't see any around his viv, there's none in his water bowl, and I'm just about to check him for them now. The one I found didn't move, but it might have just been really lazy.

**EDIT**
I checked his body for them, I couldn't see any mites anywhere, but his colouring made it kinda hard to spot black mites. I think we're all good.

Changed the substrate lately or pimp his viv? Could be something from the mouse as you said or something like a spider mite

I literally got him this time last week. I've been watching his viv like a hawk all day, and I've not been able to find anything nasty looking. Are spider mites harmful to snakes, on the offchance that it was one? O.o

Spider mites are those little red bug, like very small dots you sometimes see on a brick wall with plants or moss on them, they don't eat anything apart from plants I think, to be honest it could have been anything so many red bugs are blood suckers but there are also many that just eat plants. Did you get him from a shop?

I'd just keep an eye out, it would really be anything but if you haven't seen any more bugs then it was probably just a random bug that came from who knows where lol.

Yeah, I got him from a shop. I've not seen any more bugs, I'm not even certain it was a bug. It could have been a piece of carpet, or mouse, or anything. But I'm definitely keeping an eye out just in case.
