Do you wear any aftershave or anything like that? It could be some sort of scent that you have on you that the snake doesn't like

Dont wear after shave and i always wash my hands firt with just hot water so no idea why it wants to bite me, even when it latched onto my little finger i just waited until it let go so i didnt stress it
Maybe it's pheromones? They can scent things we can't so maybe you are giving off different pheromones to your wife.
Unless- what do you wash your hands with? If your hand wash or sanitizer has alcohol in it, they really don't like it. Everytime (except once) that I have been bit or had a near miss I've either had a drink or used a alcohol based product to clean my hands beforehand.
