Hi
My snake just shed her skin and I measured the size of the skin and it was 178 cm (5f 10in) 70in.
Going by this how accurate is this to the size of the snake I think I got a snake to big for my first snake.
Can anyone help as she keep going for me if I go near her and I had her for a month

The skin stretches as it sheds so its not an accurate measure of your snakes actual length. I know theres a program that you can download and take a photo of your snake and something that you know the length of and then it will work out how long your snake is. I can't remember where to get this program from though, but I'm sure someone will be along soon who can.

The general rule is you take 10% off the length of the shed and that gives you the length of the snake.

How are you doing it? Are you just diving in attempting to grab her?
My snake kept musking me till someone told me you cant just try to grab them. You have to let them smell you for a minute or two let them get used to your scent first. But if shes still trying to bite that might be a little difficult.

get some gloves on and handle little and often to tame her, does she head but or have mouth open for a bite when she strikes
if she does`nt like to be held at first then put a pillow case in the viv, if she goes inside then take her out and handle from the outside of case

Tempo attacks like that - I think it's more a act to scare you off. They know you're not food, so wouldn't actually bite unless they had to.

Although there are exceptions- like nasty Nagini
