I know some of you have seen these over on TRP forum, but for those that haven't
My Mexi Black's new setup. Not quite finished just yet, still have a rock outcrop and that branch at the back to screw up. But what do you think? I know he's a tad small for it yet but he'll go into it when he's ready. He was just exploring as he was trying to escape out that old one again.

Right then, the basics of my viv setup is the same as was.
I removed the cork bark tube as i couldn't get Sabre out. Which was proving to be a pain as im keeping an eye on a skin irritation.
I found a wood tube/thing in pets at home. After checking its ok and not using any of the bad woods i bleached it and made a "tube" and a high perch.
Also stuck some background in there as well.
I'm well happy with it. Sabre seems to like it too and she can be found roaming around all over.
If anyone wants to know what the plastic tub hanging under the heater is (in the video) i'm experimenting. I really need to raise the humidity without soaking the substrate. So far it's working so will make it a bit more secure and tidy in due course

Very Nice mate. I would love to be able to do natural set-ups for all mine, however I just don't have the space or money! Looks superb though. Are you using UV in the vivariums?

Not UV, it's an Exo Terra Night Light (40w)

Ah that is yes.
Sorry i thought you meant the purple bulb in the mesh.
That's a Exo Terra Repti Glo 2.0 with an Exo Terra Light unit. They do state that they "Don't flicker" which is why i went for that over any others.
I did check on their website and they gove a PDF listing and thats the one they recommend |

I'll have to compete with you if you are doing a BRB set-up soon. We are currently working on Ruby's viv so we'll have to compare notes  |

Well, im gunna go along the lines off:
At one end a Tree/mangrove effect that actually sits in an open "river" (read a big tub of water) with a rainforest esque effect. A warm end hide actually in the "tree".
A cold end hide and a Mid point high hide as per the 2 i have at the moment (not shown in the king snakes pictures just yet)
A moss box, which i think i'm going to sink below floor level
I'm also going to get another Vivexotic Vs36, and line it in clear plastic. Effectivly building a box within a box. With a tray ontop of that for the "river"
Alot of my thoughts are based on a picture in Mark O'sheas Boa and Python book
Sorry if none of it makes sense but it does too me. I have plenty of time too as i don't actually have him yet and he was only born on the 30th so plenty of build time yet |

It does sound good, although I wouldn't make it all water based at the bottom. BRBs are weird because they like to climb, but they also like to dig down and hide under the substrate, especially when young.
I would recommend doing half water and half eco-earth if you are going to do it. Give him the best of both worlds
I'm going to have a massive water bowl that will take up nearly half the floor space, but the substrate throughout the tank will be hydroleca balls covered with a weed barrier, with eco-earth on top of that for the live plants and orchid bark scattered on very top for a bit of texture.
There will be a lot of verticle stuff too, but Lewy is the grape vine man, so don't know what exactly he's planning to do with it.
Plants will include a brom (which I bought for my salamanders but is too big for their tank) and some good old inch plant. If I can get some sheet moss that will go in too.
I'm quite excited about it

The water tank/effect will cover no more than 1/4 of a 36" Viv. So 9" at most. I am also going to do the Hydro ball under eco-earth too.
There will be loads to climb over too. Just need to work out how and what |

Initially i was going for a mangrove effect, but having costing things up and looking at bits and pieces it wouldn't have looked as good as a jungle setup. So went for that instead.
I knew that i would need high humidity and that a wooden Viv would warp over time. But i also wanted to keep the same viv's as i have as they look good so i needed a solution.

I started with an Oak Vivexotic Vx36. I wanted to line it with acyrlic but the cost of doing so was stupid. So used Plexiglas instead. It cost me about £21 in total.
I cut it all to size and built it in the viv so that it would be a perfect fit. I siliconed all the edges and let it set overnight.
Once i knew it was set i removed the new "box" to make sure it was watertight and let my ducks go swimming over night.
It was quite sturdy and held an amazing amount of water. I stuck 24 litres in there and it held all night.
I made a small barrier i the middle as i want a wet side and a dry side. It was another plexi glass cut with a smoothed top put in the middle of the box.
Again i water tested it and it was all good.
Next up was to cut the top 2 vents out and to add the background.
The tape you can see is double sided tape
If i need to i can always cut out the bottom two vents.
Next up was to add some Decoration and some substrate (for photo purposes i have have stuck the water bowl on a tub. It will be off the ground but need to make a bracket to hold it up)
The substrate is only in for now for testing humidity.
Add some plants
Needed to make a ceiling for it as well so did that with a few braces in it. It fits below the wooden lid and fits perfectly. Just enough pressure to keep it water tight
Still need to do the electrics yet but without any heating or lighting is holding at 92% and 24'.
