I'd probably separate them as soon as I thought it was ok to do so... just in case

kwl,
was just a thought as we all know kings will eat if its on offer and if a hatchling will eat another hatchling then what stops them at the time of hatching lol

I would have thought that when they first hatch then their stomachs will be full of yolk and therefore they wouldn't be hungry and wouldn't eat each other unless you left them for quite a while.

As already mentioned, as long as your snakes are of similar size, have been brumated and well fed, you should have no losses when breeding! You must always supervise the initial introduction though!

good point there kaz

I don't think it's that dangerous - I think at the breeding season food isn't the most important thing on their minds. Have you ever seen a horny snake?

I knew they died, I just like being akward
Kazerella Posted - 09/07/2009 : 19:41:21
yes smart-bum Matty - they die because they've eaten too much- like you at an all you can eat Pizza Hut buffet

but seriously- hatchlings haven't learnt to hunt yet so they go for anything that moves. That's why hatchlings get eaten a lot.

I think hatchlings can eat each other but often it results in death for both
