just get him out for a few mins a day,if you kee puting him back hen he goes for you he knows that works, like i just keep it short.try letting him come out on his own and supporting his body then lift him.

Cheers!!! will probably look at getting my next viv pretty soon!!!
I have found that my snake is a little bit shy and a bit fiesty i am trying to handle him/her quite a bit but it seems like that it just alwaysgoes in for a bite and at that point i decide to put himm back in to his tank is this the right thing to do as last time he grabbed a hold of my finger it took ages to get him off. I am trying to be persistant and will continue to handle but i dont really want to force him out when he seems a bit scared to come out, should i just get him out or should i let him settle for a bit longer I have only had him for like a week and a half or so. cheers once again for the advice

very nice, looks happy in there, you will need to move up a viv size once it's as long as the lengh and width of the fuanarium,if you dont wont to keep buying bigger vivs just get the one you want and put a partion in to make it smaller and move the partion as the snake grows,if you make the next size a 2' and put plenty of cover in there.

the pet store and a lot of places i have looked say it will grow to about 4ft max length and a 3ft viv will be ok for it
but went to another local pet store and the guy in there said his grew to 6ft and i would require a 4ft viv.
what do you guys reckon?

hi,a 3x2 viv would be fine, very unlikly that you would get a 6' cali, but if you wanted to get a 4' it's up to you.How old is it at the moment?

Hi welcome to the sight m8. I have a mexi black I feed him one medium mouse a week except when he's shedding then I dont feed him till he's finished, hes not far off three foot and that seems to do him fine, good choice of snake though

i give my adult king 1 small rat weaner every 7-10 days, depends on the size of yours though.Try and get rats the same thickness of your kings body or a bit larger but no more than 1.5x the size and yes they will take what ever you offer them, there so greedy lol
