I've not seen one before, but here goes.
- About 2 weeks before stop feeding your snake (this is to make sure it's belly is empty before the temps go down) and ensure that it's healthy and a good weight
- After the starving, lower temps gradually over about 1-2 weeks. (I'm doing about 2 degrees a day drop at the moment)
- Once temps are around 5-8 degrees just leave them to brumate (check temps daily - higher than 15 degrees and they awaken and lose weight, lower than freezing and you're risking disease or death)
- A brumating snake needs fresh water throughout, so continue to change the water bowl at least every 3 days.
- In February (or earlier if you think it's necessary) reverse everything. Bring temps up by 2 degrees daily until back to normal.
- Ensure your snakey is drinking and then try a feed. They are usually ravonous after brumation

What type of behaviour can I expect? Do you still handle them, or leave them alone? Also I am going to get a digital thermometer on pay day but at the moment the dial one is reading 20 degrees. Shall I take the heat bulb out and try that and see how he gets on? Sorry about all the questions its just I dont want to cause him any harm cos hes my baby lol |

I've had to move Jasmin and Sylar into the garage as I couldn't get temps low enough in the house, even with a window open |
