Hi, my names Alex and i live in Dorset. Pleased to see a Lamps forum at last, i recognise a couple of you here ;). I have kept herps for many years and got my first Lamps in 1990, these were Sinaloans and Cali's. I now currently keep Californian, Mexican Black, Arizona Mountain, Scarlet, Mexican and Thayers Kingsnakes, and Pueblan, Sinaloan, Honduran, and Nelsons Milksnakes. I am after Gray-Bands (my favourites) and Zonata's next :)
Look forward to speaking to you soon Alex |

Hi Kazerella
If you send me a digital camera i will certainly oblige, however with Christmas coming up i can't promise you'd get it back.
Joking apart, when i get access to a camera i will take some pics including one of a pure mexi black (Geoff Clark bred), black as night and just over 6 foot i believe...UK record?...hmmm. I can remember when people used to say you'd never see one over 4 foot!

I know- our mexi black is about 5ft and I was confused when I did my research and it said that they only reach about 3 and half foot.
Maybe they've evolved |

| Welcome to the forum Alex - great collection! Our mexi is pure black - not a speck of white on him/her but we have no idea where she was bred. Is it rare have pure blacks? |

Well, put it this way, if you find pure jet black hatchlings you're onto a winner. One of my adult pairs are 100% totally jet black, and that even includes the area where i've seen the most white retained on many mexi's - inbetween the PCS and the first ventral. Not sure why but many can be jet black almost everywhere until closer examination of that area proves some white flecking. Also, there's a few mexi's floating around at the moment that have been crossed with splendida, a shame as they're both fantastic subspecies in their own right. Keep 'em pure! |
