I have a albino cali king, I managed to get him really tame with no major problems, I then upgraded his viv to a larger size, he started biting again so I moved him back to his smaller one thinking he was possibly a little bit scared in the larger viv is this the right thing to do. the new viv is 3ft by 2ft and my king is about 2ft long. I am hoping he will calm down now hes back in his original enviroment where he feels safer

move to general from off king by GP

i think it sounds like it was probably the move to the bigger viv..........

using the guide of 'width + depth of viv = maximum length of snake' your 3ft x 2ft is suitable for a 5ft snake........ quite a big viv for a 2ft cali

the old viv is (46 x 30 x 17 cm)
the new viv is 36 x 15 x 15 inchOak Vivarium
its quite a difference, i have heard putting a partition in the big viv might help what would be the best way of doing that?

I partitioned a 6 foot viv just by getting a piece of chipboard cut the right size at B&Q and then screwing it in place. Other people may have done it differently but it worked for me

1.1.0 Arizona mountain king (Sylar and Claire)
0.1.0 Blotched king ( Jasmin)
1.1.0 Guyana red-tail boa (Hercules and Athena)
1.0.1 children (Alfie and BUMP)

yeah a partition/divider should work fine, then just move it along to make the space bigger when required

We are in the same situation with Tempo- he's just gone up to his first real viv from a faun and he's gone crazy bitey! It's the right size for him though so we are sticking to our guns.

A partition should work well for you

They do seem to go bit psyco with extra space!...Kinda like a "This is mine, so back off" response. Would probably settle back again with time!

Lots of Milks!! Few Royals, corns, Rosie Boas and Childrens Pythons. One Bci, and one Irian Jaya Carpet!
