Hi ... I have a ruthvans X blair snake she has always been a lazy snake ,taking ages to shed but over the last 2-3 months she has developed a strange dryness of her nose ... snakes are smooth and dry and i'm not sure if her nostrils are blocked by the dryness.
I've tried wiping it with a cotton bud which has actived nothing. Has anyone got any surgestions...

Hi Ange,
Without seeing Pictures, We can't really help. However, It could be that she has a mild case of Nose Rub, Depending on what type of enclosure she is kept in, she could be trying to escape in a particular bit of the cage that is blunt or sharp, which is catching on her nose. An other possibility is that, She may begin to be shedding, As you mentioned she hasnt shed and been very lazy (which common for Lampropeltis species anyway). A picture would be very handy. If you can get hold of a Cotton Bud and luke warm water, and moisten it, That will put her at ease for the time being.

| hi and welcome to the forum,my king used to get this and it was just down to nose rubbing,but settled down once he settled in, |

| Best thing for nose rubbing is to house them in a plastic RUB (really useful box) until it's cleared up. They can't rub as much in one of those. |
