food that's smaller than a small mouse, but bigger than a fuzzy?
i had to leave strawbs unfed for about a week longer than she'd normally be fed due to her shedding, so with that in mind, we thought she'd quite easily shovel down a small mouse after she eventually shed. she tried, got as far as it's neck, then let it go again.
it's so frustrating, she's been on 4 fuzzies for MONTHS now, and we asked the bloke that probed her if he thought she was big enough for small mice, and he told me he had exactly the same breed&size/age and his is on rat pups every other day. should i try that?? :\ i'm hesitant because i've been told rat pups aren't as good for snakes as mice are...
any ideas? thanks |

Rat pups every other day is crazy. When your at the shop ask for the biggest fuzzies or smallest small mice. Rolling the mouse between your hands also helps them go down easier, but put it in a bag or something so you dont rub off the mouse smell.
Edit - Just saw your second post, I wouldnt bother with rat pups. |

Or snap the legs off when the mice are frozen.
They make lovely chilled toothpicks then as well.
