Hi everyone New to King Snakes and find your site full of good info I have a new Black mex at about one meterlong (please could any one tell me if they have experiance of a snake thats allways looking for food ? as cant they get overweight?) I also have a baby Mex Mex |

Mexi blacks (and kings in particular really) all are very food orientated (even if it's your fingers) Just stick to the appropriate feeding for the size of snake, and you should be okay. Just watch your fingers

Hello Greg - I agree with Lewy. They are always after food (except in winter when males can go off it a bit), but it's easy enough to control if you stick to decent size meals at the right times  |

Thanks for your comments do you think two mice would be better than the small rat that he normally has each week he always strikes first timed . As kings have smallish heads what do you think about smaller items say 2 or 3 mice at meal time? |

| i give my adult king 1 small rat weaner every 7-10 days,depends on the size of yours though.Try and get rats the same thickness of your kings body or a bit larger but no more than 1.5x the size and yes they will take what ever you offer them,there so greedy lol |

Hi welcome to the sight m8. I have a mexi black I feed him one medium mouse a week except when he's shedding then I dont feed him till he's finished, hes not far off three foot and that seems to do him fine, good choice of snake though |

Hi there I have an albino banded cali king snake just need a bit of advice
the pet store and a lot of places i have looked say it will grow to about 4ft max length and a 3ft viv will be ok for it but went to another local pet store and the guy in there said his grew to 6ft and i would require a 4ft viv. what do you guys reckon? |

hi,a 3x2 viv would be fine,very unlikly that you would get a 6' cali,but if you wanted to get a 4' it's up to you.How old is it at the moment? |

its about 5-6 mnths old well thats what they told me in the shop i got it from anyway!!! its about 18inches long at the moment think it might need a new viv soon |
