Im looking at getting a 3 foot viv for my rapidly growing florida king, or bigger if anyone advises. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on the make and model. I have been looking at the Aquapac Viv-exotic VX range as they seem pretty good. Money is really not a considertion I just want the best for my little guy. Are there any experts that can advise on the best set up? seen those microclimate AHS heaters and they look good but Ive no experience in using one.
I would really appreciate any help as ive been looking on the net for so long, and being a novice I cannot for the life of me decide on the ideal stuff.
I live in the midlands area, so any good advice from shop owners/workers would be greatly appreciated followed by relevant purchases! I dont mind paying for good service! |

To be honest with you I looked into an AHS for my boas but decided to go for ceramics instead. I use a ceramic for Sylar as well so I would go down that route if I were you. AHS have some very good reviews but I've also heard of some problems as well whereas I've heard nothing but positives for ceramics.
As for the viv, I've built all of my own so I can't really commment on the ones on the market, but the ones that Blackecho uses loook good. I think they are viv exotic vx36 but I'm sure he will let you know if I'm wrong though. |

Thanks for your replies, magneticblue do you use a heat mat as well as the ceramic? Every book I read tells me a different story on whats best!

I just use a ceramic on pulse stat. No reason why you would need a heat mat as well as the ceramic heats both the air and the substrate below the bulb. |

I have a Aqupac VX48. It's decent quality but do shop around as the price can vary for the same product.
I will get more Aquapacs for my smaller snakes when they outgrow their RUBs.
