Just a thought I had. Kage's viv is heated by a red heat lamp, with plenty of foliage and about 4 different hides to choose from along the length. I have two digital thermometers, one at hot end and one at the cool, and the temps range from 32 to about 24. I then realised that obviously the hides are where she'll spend most of her time, and so I placed the probes inside them and watched the temps plummet to 25.5 and 21. =/ my worry is that if I turn the stat up to raise the hide temperatures to what they should be, the ground outside them could be in excess of 35 degrees. Any thoughts?

yes, dont have the thermos in the hides ;) the heat will get to them even in the hides. have the probes outside the hides but would have it on the base
