I've only have him since the beginning of this week, but he's already settled down nicely. I was meant to get a cali kingsnake, but there was a mix-up that meant I could either wait a few weeks for a cali, or walk home with him. Obviously I couldn't walk away from such a beautiful snake, so here he is.

Thanks :)

Could I ask if anyone knows if he looks to be a healthy weight in these pics? The only other snakes I've handles before are a mate's 8 year old corn snakes, so I'm not really sure if he's the right size for a 2/3 year old king snake (the shop didn't know exactly how old he was). I figured he's still young, but I was wondering if maybe he was underfed?

His body weight looks in proportion to his styructure/ length to me, but he is curled so I suppose difficult to judge accurately. He's brilliant all the same. Love the name!

XD Thank you. He got named after an in-joke in my flat, and since he's a Kingsnake, I figure King Julian was appropriate.

It's a clear sign that I spend far too much time on the internet XD
He looks like he might start shedding in the next week or so. Would paper towels be ok to make him a moist box with?

No need whatsoever to make a moist box , he's a desert species and will shed just fine without , his water bowl will create more than enough humidity
All I do with my kings is give them a quick spray with water once a day when shedding , although they probably dont even need that.
They always shed perfectly , in one piece
