He's really good. Gives a wee jump when you pick him up but not shown any aggression and I've handled him about 6 times so far. Initially he was quite shy and hid alot but now he's out and about and spends alot of time sitting ontop of that big bit of cork bark I got for him so I guess that means he's setting in. |

Wee bugger got me today I was giving his RUB a full clean and I moved him from his 70 litre to a 9 litre so I could weigh him (he's 460g now) and clean his RUB out. When I opened it to put him back he was pi$$ed. I picked him up and he bit me on the hand I was holding him with so I couldn't get out of the way. Have to say it was a bit nippy and I bled like a haemophiliac
Funny thing is last night I got offered another king for free as it's apparently a bit nippy too and I said yes. Not sure what kind it is yes but I do bring this on myself
Afterwards I cleaned my hand then took him out again just to show him who's boss. He was fine.......... |

He was definately in a funny mood that day. I've been feeding him every 10 days, this was day 9 and I think he was hungry as I fed him that night as he destroyed the mouse. It was another 45g XL mouse and it didn't last long. Once these mice are done I am going to try him and my big 500g+ corn on rat weaners as my corn took a mouse of similar size in a few minutes last night and was still on the lookout for more. |

I kinda advise against rat weaners just from personal experience anyway... specially with corns as they can just get proper so easily with them. Just because he is destroying and wolfing down food doesn't mean they are hungry ;) |

I was advised to go to them by a guy who breeds corns. Would be easier if everyone would just agree lol I've got enough XL mice to do me for another few months so I've got time to do some research. Thanks for the feedback though. |

Have you been on tcs and seen pictures of my morbidly obese corn which was fed on weaners rats? He was 1200g and now he's like 930g and that's taken him 2 years of dieting on 1 med mouse a month. Weaners are probably good for breeding females and people that know what they are kinda doing but my snake was still stacking on weight when I was feeding him 1 weaner every month. |

I asked on thecornsnake group on facebook and everyone who answered said yes to feed rat weaners as they contain less fat that XL mice. As they are bigger I'd cut his feeding to every 2 weeks. I'll go check out the obese snake thread on the tcs just now. |
