I've been watching Brynden for a few minutes and when I changed his water this morning he didn't vibrate his tail, a first.

What I'm curious about is when I should start handling him. He's only been with me for two full days, so I know he needs more time. He's due for his first feed (first with me) on Wednesday or Thursday, I figured I would give him his feed, wait 24 hours and then attempt to handle him for a minute or two.

If he's ok with that then i'll try doing that regularly, increasing the time over weeks until he is comfortable enough to be handled for long periods.

What do you all think?

That sounds about right, but i heard that you were supposed to wait 48 hours after feeding before handling them?

Good luck with your first handling session :)

as Emmajayne has said is fair but you must wait 48 hours after a feed to handle, is best left for that time to settle and digest, any sooner and it may regurge,

I've been trying to work up the nerve to handle Brynden but he continues to rattle his tail, quite quickly and strongly whenever I make a move to touch him.

I've had him for a week, he's had his first feed and he shed yesterday. Is the rattling a sign he will bite me if I try to pick him up? And if so how long would it be a good idea to wait until he is calm enough?
