Sounds fine to me, you can gradually increase it as well or a couple times a day until the snake and you are more comfy with it.
Generally I find that mine get irritated with handling at variable times and it's easy to tell they just totally change how they are, in which case it's back into viv time.

Hi, I did the same. Everytime I did a spot clean or water change I would hold the snake for a few mins so they got used to me.

Just keep carrying on.
My little hondo is the same, like greased lightening. He'll calm down with regular handling and become more tolerant of it.

I bought one of those stone reptile hides that fits on the inside of the glass and has a cover on the outside of the glass held by magnets. Wasn't sure if Ssssid would use it but she snuck in on the first day and it is one of her fave hides.

It means I can view her without stressing her out but also is very handy when I want to pick her up because she doesn't shoot off when I turn the inner hide on it's side and she's got used to me gently picking her out of it.

I hold her inside the viv (mine is a top opening terrainium) for a few seconds and if she is going to wriggle and musk, that's usually when she does it, then she wraps herself around my wrist and seems quite content o be held outside the viv and to have a bit of a slither

1 Pueblan Milk Snake; 1 African Mantis; several of it's locust lunch mates; various Stick Insects); 1 Doberman; several cats; and 5 fish

Got mine off eBay, a fraction of the price think it was about £6.50 and I bought a few other bits so postage overall was less than a fiver. Will try to find a link

Exo terra reptile den: one I ordered was supposed to be the small but they ran out and sent the medium instead and that's actually better for her.
