hi all, got my cali king 3 weeks ago now
first two feeds were great, great strike and coil....not a prob, today shes just struck at it in defence but not atempted to swallow
any advice? or do kings do this from time to time
not much history on her apart from her feeding pattern, the store i bought her from said the breeder doesnt give much advice
btw, id say shes about 6months old
on one pinkie a week so far....was going to try her with two tonight

if she was eating fine a few weeks ago, and with no records, it is possible it is coming up to a shed.
check your temps and have a look see if its in blue |

I can only go off lee's fantastic advice not too long ago with a simular problem i had.....Give it a KFC!! Buy a chick and lob off a leg and a wing and feed it to your little one!
worked for me lol |

thanks guys
the store said she was on one pinkie, and that i shoudl move her on to two when settled in
was just thinking in the evening she might be going into shed, as she is deff more grumpy than normal, and hiding more as to where she used to be out and about being a right nosy one
not seen her eyes go blue yet, but will check again today |

Aww, sounds like she could be due a shed then.
I didn't get any records either with my Marv :( all I know is he is on a fuzzy every 7 days and is fed on a wednesday.
Not got a clue when he lat shed so like you I will just have to be on the look out for any signs. |

aaww louise........fingers crossed eh hun......will be getting some fuzzies this friday, still using pinkies just to use um up lol...but she refused too, so i recon she must be going into shed
have put a bath in there for her, as all her water was out of her bowl this morning lol
trust me louise, they sure are fiesty lil devils lol but soooo cute lol |

yep, as you guessed boudica was in shed mode
just watched her shed, was amazing.......although didnt see much as she pulled it off by going through her aspen, but just pulled it out, all clean shed, and the eye caps too
all shiny and new she is now lol, perhaps she will be in a better mood to feed lol |

just tried her lee, just tried to strike me like crazy, ignored the pinkie lol
so will try again tomorrow when shes chilled out a bit
one good thing though, picked her up to put her into an RUB for her feed and she didnt musk over me this time lol
must be doing something right |

Glad to hear she had a good shed. Fingers crossed she will take her feed the next time you offer it.
I fed Marv on wednesday and yesterday evening I went to change his water and he had done a poop and the stupid boy had slid through it! Not nice! Had to let him run through a damp paer towel in my hands to get him clean again. He was very good, didn't get grumpy at all. |

so cool hes placid for you, boudica is a feisty lil thing, but at least she stoped musking over me
tried her again this morning as she was out and about, and she took her pinkie good as gold lol was amazing that her shed was black where her markings were...... |

didnt keep this one as i had to rip it to get it off the plants lol
but if her next one is whole then yep will keep it
i made sure her eye caps and tail tip was there, was amazing to watch her |
