Hello, I am on the corn snake forum and have 2 corns, but I'm addicted now to snakes and was interested in Maybe getting a King Snake..? Are there any specific morphs that are best for sort of beginners?
I have read the care sheet and they seem pretty close to corns in the looking after point of view, so are there any different traits that a King snake has that is worth knowing,, Thanks |

hi and welcome over here [:).]Kings and corns are very similar, some kings require a higher temps than that of corns but that is just about the only difference.
The only other main difference is that kings can be more food orientated.
Don't really think there is a specific type of king that would be best for a beginner they are pretty much of a muchness so any one would do, but being very biased I would go with a California King. |
9.6 Corns, 1.0 Bci, 2.1 Royals, 1.1 king snakes, 0.0.1 milksnake, 1.1 black rat snakes, 1.2 Beardies, 1.0 shovelface

Kings are a sensible option. If you do go for a king, are you looking at a hatchy or adult one?? Or not sure yet? |

Not sure any kings are so called best starters IMO. If I was to offer an opinion on kings from my own experience, i'd say Mexi-black was best for a starter. But that's only because he's been the easiest and most laid back of all my kings.
