Heres a pic of one of my two hatchlins (first time Milks breeding...Woo Hoo!!) The parents were sold to me as Syspilia, but there was some who thought they may have been Tri-coloured Jungles..see what you think?
Here is one of the adults...It has slight belly checkering but the red splotch on the head...As do true Syspilia

Hi Pam,
Nice to see you here. I do love these, despite me thinking they are indeed Hybrids. I've looked into them quite alot, trying to match your's to proven Syspilia. Could you count how many Red Bands they have? The head just screams out Kingsnke to me though.
Here's some genuine Syspilia Pam.
Maybe I'm just jealous and don't want to admit it!

I"ll count the Red bands for you Scott (on your head be it if they bite me...Haha!) Now, i was looking through some stuff the other day and i came across a Hybrid Ruthveni/Red-Rat...Did look similar to mine..What you thinking?? The male has 24 red rings!! I did ask Steve who i bought them from for info on them, but as yet he hasent got back to me??? Your pics do look so much brighter! While we"re at it, can you source me some Pales???..Next on my hit list! |

Hi Pam,
I've fired them up on the American forum, who are the best at I.D'ing. So I'll let you know what comes of it. I thought you bought them as "Scarlet Kings", which we both agreed on at the time, they are most defernetly not them! The red saddles do fit into the category of 16-31 nicely.
Pales? If your interested in any rare sub-species contact this bloke.

Some Good News Pam. The experts have agreed it could be either two sub-species. One, Original Syspilia. Secondly Temporalis. I would stick to labeling them as Reds though. I quote;
quote: Those are sweet! man!. That is a very tough call for me to say either way with absolute certainty though. Every time I look at them it could easily go either way..LOL!
They are definitely one or the other, or "could" even be some of both too I guess, who really knows.
But I can tell you with 100% certainty that they ae NOT some silly-ass "jungle" type hybrids for SURE!.
Those are DEFINITELY some nice snakes Scott, and certainly aren't just a whacky "hodge-podge" composite of different things. That is for certain!!

Hey Pam,
Would you swat the two Red Hatchlings for Spotted and Het Mexican? They are sexed as a pair? Any ideas of the sex of the Reds?

Hey Scott. i have alot more time and effort to put in with the wee guys before they would be ready to go to a new home..far to small and finicky at the minute. I havent sexed them yet, but it is possible i may keep a female for myself if there is one . I will let you know as the time goes on, but you can definitly have some next season if they breed?? |
