Well, I've not been on here in a while (have been somewhat busy of late =S) but I thought I'd come and give you guys an update of my first breeding attempt with my Grey Bands.
Mating appeared to go well and eight eggs were laid, three of which didn't look too good and subsequently went bad but was left with five that looked healthy.
55 days after putting them in the incubator this happened...
Over the next four days all five eggs hatched out and here's the result...
No.1
No.2
No.3
No.4
And finally my fav and one I shall be keeping for myself, No.5 aka Ziggy

Thanks Next job is to get them all feeding. One's fed already with no problems at all. Just left the pinky in with it and it was gone within 5 mins. Two others ignored their dinner so may have to start scenting the pinkies with lizard to get them interested. All have now had their first shed so got to attempt to feed them all again now. Going to leave it a couple of days but all should go well I hope |

Thanks guys
Scott, feeding is indeed a right pain lol I thought I'd got lucky cos the first one fed on a defrost pinky as soon as I put it in but since that, it's not eaten. I've had one other feed aswell. So, two out of five have fed once. I've tried braining the pinks and even lizard scenting them (handy to have an iguana kicking round who's almost always shedding so plenty of skin to rub pinks on lol). They seem interested but don't appear to know what they should be doing. On the next feeding attempt I'm going to get a bit more hands on and assist the ones that haven't fed yet cos it's getting to that time to start worrying. I'm sure all will work out well though. In fact, I could really do with feeding them today. Will keep you all posted. |

No joy yet but I did have one strike at the pinky. I've not tried the cutting them in half lengthways yet but I will definitely be trying that tonight! I can see them being a hell of a lot more interested if I did that. They're all interested when I brain them but then give up after a little while and ignore them. Little so n so's WILL start feeding soon or there will be trouble lol |

Haha! I know the feeling well...My Reds are giving me the same problem, one is now on pinks and growing well, but the smallest one is a struggle! Even the smallest one day old pinks are too big for it to manage, so im having to resort to mouse tails for the minute...Dont give up, you"ll get there! |
