My Mexican milk has been going absolutely nuts all of last night, and all morning too. In fact he shows no sign of settling down at all. He did have a self imposed fast for a few weeks and showed the same behaviour then, but I thought he'd settled down since he started eating again.
So when does the breeding season end?
I have an un-sexed corn in the tank beneath his, and although its shown signs of the same behavior hasn't went off it's food.
I'm sort of thinking that the Milk may want in with the corn. I have no intention of doing this, but could it be a possibility?
My other 2 snakes aren't of breeding age as they are both 09's. |

I wouldn't say there is an exact date when the males become less interested. However, as the time goes on both sexes will only loose interest. Has your females shed recently? But to answer your question, There is no exact date, but I can only imagine overtime, there hormones will fade.

I don't know the answer to this but I have been wondering about my female blotched. I tried to breed her earlier in the year but had no sucess, she just didn't seem interested. However, she has not eaten for 4 weeks now and has never refused a feed prior to this. I am wondering if I should try her again? |

The Milk snake is still going crazy. That's been all day today. I'm laid up with a throat infection, and assignments that need doing. He's been keeping me amused all day :) |

that was early, might of missed the opportunity as i think most do a few days after but saying that mine never even shed,so i think it depends on the snake. |

Scot the hot ends of all my tanks are set between 28.5-29.3 They are all measured with digital thermometers and those temps would be the min/max readings during the day |

A quick update...the milk is still going nuts :)
I had him out of the tank earlier and, by God, he did his best to get in with the corn snake. Even though they are different species would the attraction still be there? |

Hi Headlow,
Okay, The temperature is fine. Just asked because most snakes are active when the vivarium is too hot for them. But this is obviously not the case. Theres no denieing the fact that the Milksnake can be attracted to a Cornsnake.
