If my Mexi Black is shaking its tail when I attempt to pick it up should I leave it alone and take it as a sign it doesnt want to be picked up?

I've got De ja vu

I replied on the other thread, but I'll reply again. I wouldn't pick him up when he's rattling, but go back soon after so that he doesn't think he gets away without being handled if he just shakes his tail.

I mentioned about how you approach the snake too, because that makes a difference.

if it's possible you could try letting the snake come out of the viv of it's own accord, gently supporting her weight as she comes out until you're properly holding her. snakes that can be 'viv defensive' are quite often better mannered outside their territory (remember there's always exceptions to the rules though )

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, Dumerils boas, BCO hybrids, Sinder Hypo boas, Day Geckos
