These Mantids are really easy to keep, just need soil/sand on bottom about an Inch thick, some twigs to clime on, room temp(or slightly higher, we keep them on top of Draco's tank so they get a little of his excess heat), feeding every few days(anything like moths and large flies are good but I use locusts mainly, don't use crickets as its not good for them) and the tank just needs misting every few days.
There are some like the Orchid Mantis which require specific temps and humidity but I would probably say they are still quite east.
Just watch out if they grab your finger by mistake as they have an extremely powerful grip and its hard to get them off and they will eat through your skin if they get the chance(nearly happened once but luckily Zen let go) |

Hey Everyone,
Unfortunately Zen passed away on Sat morning. She was a great Mantis and I'm really glad I got her. I buried her in the garden and am now left with an empty tank , well except for the Locust that made a lucky escape and now occupies it(didn't think it was right feeding the locust to my lizard seeing as how it had escaped being eaten once) |

Cheers peeps, she was about 8 months old. They live about 1 year at max so she was about average age I think. |
