Good day to one and all!

I just have a quick question with regards to breeding. I have a proven pair of Grey Bands that I bought last year and am attempting to breed for the first time. I've just brought them out of their cooling period and am now waiting for the female to shed before popping her in with the male.

I've read all I can find about breeding but so far I've not found anything saying if there is an ideal weight the female should be before breeding.

Can anyone offer any advice in this respect?

Thanking you kindly in advance.

1.1.5 Grey Bands (Adults 100% Het Albino)
0.0.1 Green Iguana
1.0.0 Whites Tree Frog
0.0.1 Green Bottle Blue Tarantula
1 x Giant African Land Snail

Not sure on specificially for kings, but corns need to be around 300g. I would think that kings would be similar, if not a bit heavier. So my guess-timate is around 320g

Hey thanks for that

I knew Corns were round the 300g mark so was aiming for round about that to be on the safe side but thought I'd ask what with being my first attempt at breeding and all. Don't want to make any mistakes that could harm my lovely snakies.

Thanks again

they're quite similar species so like Kaz said, use the corns rule of 3 - 3 feet long, 3 years old, and 300g - as a minimum requirement...........although there are breeeders on here who have more experience with the species

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, Dumerils boas, BCO hybrids, Sinder Hypo boas, Day Geckos

I would agree with 3 feet, 3 years old and 300g as a minimum but if they are a proven pair then surely they must meet this criteria?

1.1.0 Arizona mountain king (Sylar and Claire)
0.1.0 Blotched king ( Jasmin)
1.1.0 Guyana red-tail boa (Hercules and Athena)
1.0.1 children (Alfie and BUMP)

They're a proven pair yes so they certainly meet the 3 feet and 3 years criteria but I've never weighed them so don't know for sure that they're 300g.

However, they are both well covered and excelent feeders so I would imagine they meet this criteria too. I just wanted to make sure I knew what weight they were supposed to be before making any attempts to breed.

Thanks for all your help
