Hi Everyone,
Found this forum after searching for a Care Sheet as wanting to get a King Snake soon and I have say to what a great site/forum this is. So many amazing pictures and great advice. As said above I am really hoping to get a baby King Snake soon so any tips for a first time snake owner(I have 2 lizards but this is my first snake) would be greatly appreciated. My brother is also hoping to get a snake when he moves in with his fiancee but he is going for a Corn Snake so any tips on caring for those would also be welcome.
Well thanks all and looking forward becoming a solid member of this forum

Welcome to the forum! Glad you like the site - Kings are are a great starter, easy enough to care for and have great personalities. As for corn snake tips - Have you seen our sister website http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk it;s set up the same as here but with corns - there's a good care sheet on the main website as well.
I look forward to seeing what kind of king you get, don't forget to post some photos when you do! |

Hey,
thanks for the tip about the corn snake website, I know my brother has joined one and am pretty sure its the same one but will let him know. We are both going tomorrow to have a look at some reptile shops so will hopefully both have our snakes by tomorrow and will definitely post pics. |

Welcome to the forum. Best advice I can give is simply follow the care sheet and you shouldn't go far wrong, but if you have any questions/worries then just ask. We're all here to help |

hey all,
I got my King snake today(its a cali), ive called him Rorschach . Ive set him up in a faunarium with a heat mat, the warm ends seems to be sitting at about 31/32.c but he has decided to go under the paper i'm using as a susbstrate. He is still on paper as there are a few layers so he is not directly on the plastic bottom but just wanted to check that this is ok. I'm guessing that this must be a comfortable place for him or he wouldnt sit there. He seemed happy enough as he spent ages exploring, guess he is just tired.
I will post some pics when the lighting is better |
