the past few feeds Simba has started to eat his mouse,he gets to the front paws and then decided to spit it out..

nothing has changed with how i defrost/warm stuart up, and tbh i dont think anything in his viv has changed.. although hes not been as active as he normally is,

is it just that time of year again for him or does anyone think it could be something else?

Are you able to check the inside of its mouth, might have a sore or something,if it was just because of the season it wouldnt have no interest.

i'd agree with lee he just wouldn't be interested rather than trying it then for some reason deciding against it

is it a new batch of food? or from a different supplier? because i buy in bulk mine are on the same batch for a few months then when i re order and get new in they can be a bit fussy

if you hold either side of his head behind his jaw and gently prise his mouth open from the middle/front of his lower jaw with something like a pen lid you should get a look in his mouth........

if there's nothing obvious, alternatively you could try a smaller prey item?

iv bought all his food from the same shop where i got him from..he ate fine when i first got him but i dont know whether its a different batch or not,
I had a look in his mouth and it looked relatively ok - couldnt get a great look as he got a bit hissy with me, although i have seen that hes managed to peel off the top layer on his scales just between his eyes - hes definately not due a shed though so dont know whats happened there - any ideas?
Although i did notice that he moves away when i move my hands down his neck - not that he liked his head and neck to be handled much anyway!

any help would be appreciated, il get some smaller mice in for him though just incase hes wanting something smaller
ive checked him for mites and other nasties and i couldnt see anything obviously wrong,

usually same supplier, stored all together, the food iteself shouldn't be a problem

the only other thing i can think of is size - if he's struggled with a slightly too big item in the past it might be putting him off trying again so i'd try something smaller and see if it helps hun

il get him some small mice in...
think he was a bit moody aswell cause i changed his hides around and he didnt like the one in the warm end.. have swapped them back round and hes a bit chirpier now - hes back to burrowing about and causing a big mess..
