As i said my new addition weighs 1200grams and looks like she needs to lose some,is it best to keep to normal size meals less often or just smaller meals at normal times.

Luka, one of my Calis, is 1200 grams but not really overweight, she's just HUGE for her breed. I feed her a rat weaner every 2 weeks and her weight remains stable with that. She'd eat more if I let her though.

i just want to get rid of the creases she has,it looks very uncomfortable for her,she even seems to have a double chin lol

I would say either would be fine- as long as she's losing it it doesn't matter how you diet her

With Trilby, we just reduced her feeds to once a fortnight though. She's lost quite a bit, but is still a massive beast

Thats what I would do personaly.

i was just thinking the same about the fat content of rats, maybe a couple of mice a fortnight?
magneticblue Posted - 18/06/2009 : 22:48:52
It may have, but if the snake is used to being fed a rat weaner each week then when it goes down to once a fortnight it should still lose plenty of weight

Hmm....Would the rat weaner have more fat on it than a large mouse?
magneticblue Posted - 18/06/2009 : 21:18:56
Sounds like a plan to me

so a small weaner every 2 weeks with plenty of exercise,do that sound about right?
