Posted - 24/06/2009 : 20:33:31 Luka, one of my Calis, is 1200 grams but not really overweight, she's just HUGE for her breed. I feed her a rat weaner every 2 weeks and her weight remains stable with that. She'd eat more if I let her though. |

Posted - 21/06/2009 : 20:37:49 I would say either would be fine- as long as she's losing it it doesn't matter how you diet her
With Trilby, we just reduced her feeds to once a fortnight though. She's lost quite a bit, but is still a massive beast |

Posted - 20/06/2009 : 17:58:17 i was just thinking the same about the fat content of rats, maybe a couple of mice a fortnight? |

Posted - 18/06/2009 : 22:48:52 It may have, but if the snake is used to being fed a rat weaner each week then when it goes down to once a fortnight it should still lose plenty of weight |

Posted - 18/06/2009 : 21:58:04 Hmm....Would the rat weaner have more fat on it than a large mouse? |

Posted - 18/06/2009 : 21:14:43 so a small weaner every 2 weeks with plenty of exercise,do that sound about right? |
