Hey I looked all over the internet for an answer but found nothing! I'm inquiring about my cali king snake ( Sirrey ) who, since he was a little worm, has had one blue eye! I've looked around for an answer for some time and seen nothing except people panicking about there snake shedding! Does anybody know what it is cause im worried he may be blind in that eye... Thanks in advance!

Aww, someone else made a David Bowie comment before me :P In humans it's a totally harmless genetic mutation, I'd guess it's the same in snakes, but I have no idea about the anatomy of a snake's eye.

I would have been tempted to call him Bowie- cos david bowie has two different coloured eyes -one green and one blue I think-

unusual and quirky-

nice snake btw- he's got lovely proper clear bands= lots of my cali's 'stripes' look more like saddles, they don't meet at the bottom like sirrey's do

Ahh right thank you, I have been worried for a while although I did think it could just be a different colour like you say! It does look kinda cool too :P

I've saw a few snakes with different colour eyes, just like you get in humans. It looks like yours is like that. I wouldn't worry about it. It certainly doesn't look like a blind eye to me.

I have a boa with one blue blind eye but your snake still has the pupil. My boa is completely blind in that eye and has no pupil. Hopefully someone with some more insight will get back to you xx
