No idea to be honest, may be good to ask your vet. I know that sometimes they can be very over excited feeders and can throw themselves at food. I'm just thinking of it like if you had stitches in your leg then like ran or something it could pull them out. I guess if hes a calm feeder it might be fine with a small mouse? No idea about snakes and stitches though to be honest.

Thanx

So hold off food then a made a point asking about eating and shes says fine as I was worried bout the stitches bursting

I was just thinkin how we need to food to heal and thought snakes would be the same?

So hold off ad even thought a smaller mouse so she isn't stretching as much inside

Ave never encountered this before so all your advice is appreciated

Thats good to hear :3

I unno if I would feed her for a while, at least until she is nearly all healed up. I think I just have images though of a king getting too excited about its food, springing for it and opening up the wound :(

I wish sammie a speedy recovery though.

Yip ad found an American site then found this one

Ok hope he gets things moving

Al leave him few days c wot happens just do the bathing and keep him warm

Thanx for ur help

sounds to me like the temps being to low due to the mat not working has slowed down the digestion of the meal. Theres no need for repto boost, this doesnt help constipation. Keep the snake warm and bath him as the Vet has suggested this should get things moving.

The other possibility is that the snake may be coming upto a shed, I know my kings wont go toilet when they are about to shed.

Also see you are from Scotland :D

Hi

I noticed thro week he hadn't ate but this is not unusual for him just thought ad try feed him this week again he get 1 large mouse

Then last night I noticed a swelling when looking up the anatomy at his rectum the size the mouse would be

I started looking online and phoned ma vet they were pointing to constipation

When looking at the vivarian the heat mat doesn't appear to be working so last night I kept hot water bottle beside him and moved tank to radiator.

Went today and got new heat mat and another thermometer phoned a reptile vet in falkirk she says diff to tell haven't not seen him but sounds like constipation to bathe and try vitamins recto boost which I haven't source as yet.

I've put the vit in his water as I don't want to feed him to cause more bother

However when I brung him out the tank he did pass a bit of faeces

How long will this take to move?

He is active and scales and eyed bright

Thanx

hi,

How long has this been going on, how is the snake fed in viv on substrate and if so what substrate, or in a separate tub.

As a first step I would suggest a warm bath, but no hotter than the hot end temps, but if you can give the info requested maybe can help more
