Posted - 17/03/2011 : 21:02:21 Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and would like a little help from the experts. I have an adult Californian king that someone found wandering around outside the local brothel about 6 years ago. She (?) is a lovely snake and has never been a problem since I've had her. She always spends the winter under our computer cabinet in my office (she absolutely insists on this) and after going under there in November, finally came out again last month. She ate one rat soon after and since then has not eaten and is very active. She is also leaking small drops of fluid from her cloaca. I'm assuming she's looking for a mate, but what is with the fluid?

Posted - 18/03/2011 : 09:51:57 it is possible the tiny droplets are musk bit would keep an eye on that just incase it gets worse, also if she is a he it is also poossibly of food as you have mentioned above in he's fancying some lady snakes company. |

Posted - 18/03/2011 : 07:33:31 Hello Gmac,
I'm not sure she's female at all, I've never had her probed. I'm looking to get it done though. The fluid is the same colour as urine, but it is only occasional tiny droplets. She generally seems very healthy and is enjoying her exercise and time out of the viv. She had a small poo yesterday and that looked perfectly normal. |

Posted - 18/03/2011 : 00:10:10 she could be looking for a mate, but are you definately sure its a female. As for the fluids leaking from the vent really doesnt sound all that healthy havent seen that in any of my snakes. What colour is this fluid?
