Posted - 02/03/2011 : 20:10:26 hey after the last problem i posted here its a month on and while my king shed extra scales on hes last shed and that caused him to have a pattern of discoloured crusty sore scales "according to the pet shop man who seems very clued up on snakes" this pattern has now turned red and the scales have seemed to be cracked and and very dry i wiped repti wound aid on them and he tried to strike me so there sore for him the next night i bathed him in lukewarm water and repti wound aid and let him soak hes really active and never seems to go in either of hes hides hes always playing but hes scales now look waxy like they do before he sheds but he doesnt show any other signs and also if he had a bad shed last time causing this problem will hes next shed be the same or worse ? and are these scales due to him trying to shed or have they become infected or something theres no puss or anything any help would be appreciated please  |

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 11:53:24 Just sounds as though he's worn them off, so they should heal themselves in time.
He would be trying the shed as this is part of the healing process.
I would just continue as you have been doing. The wound aid will help stop it becoming infected, but it should clear up itself in a few months. |
