Posted - 09/08/2010 : 23:28:15 I tried to give my new little on his first feed. The desire is DEF there but the snake is just too little to eat a 0.5 - 1.0 gm pinkie, ( gave him the smallest one in the bag. After about a half hour he got to the front legs and couldn't get anymore down and eventually spit it out. I looked locally and couldn't find any pinkies smaller then what I have.
2 questions:
1. Can I cut the legs off a pinkie so it will fit or cut it in half maybe.
2. Can I feed him a few crickets of something else until his a little bigger.
3. Should I wait a few days until I try again?
BTW This is a 12" hatchling Cali King. CB in June or July.
Thanks ya'll!!!

Posted - 11/08/2010 : 01:06:56 I cut off the legs and tail and raised the temp about 2C. It took about 20 minutes and he got it down.

Posted - 10/08/2010 : 21:42:46 I agree with Gmac and Magnectic- just try feeding the limbs until he's bigger.
He must be tiny! |

Posted - 10/08/2010 : 20:37:09 while Kings will generally eat anything, I wouldnt feed them crickets. There is no goodness in them that will help your king grow.
As above really, try cutting the limbs off and trying again in 3 days or so. As he is showing an interest in eating there is no reason to be trying anything else at ths stage. |

Posted - 10/08/2010 : 11:17:28 I would suggest cutting off the legs and tail and letting your snake have a go at eating them. Somebody else may have some other ideas though |
