Not a problem Marg. It's just one of those learning curves. Least you have some experience with snakes, that can only help.

All the best,
Scott

Scott, thanks for the help, i do appreciate it, i have had royals for sometime now but going into a new type of snake is a bit daunting, i did do reserch, but once you have the new one home, that is an all different ball game, sure you understand!!

That wouldn't be a bad idea, giving him hime time to adapt to his new home. Let us know how he gets on.

All the best,
Scott

I would rather go with once a week on an adult mouse. I only tend to feed adult large species of snakes, such as Pythons and Boa's every two weeks. Be warned, Cali King's have a good appetite and an even better feeding response ;)

As i only got him on Saturday i haven't fed him yet, but he has a normal mouse, people i got him from said once every 2 weeks, does that sound about right to you?

What are you feeding him and how often? As this could be a better guideline. However, Like I said, 328g's sounds a comfortable weight for a 3 year old.

300 Sounds about right. When breeding requirements come about, we tend to say 300g's for a colubrid is substancel, which also goes with the rule 3 years. So that usually intails 100g's each year. So I would comfortably say 328g is a fine old weight to have.
