Sadly, Darren and I lost one of our Oranda fish on the weekend, 'Baby'. [So named by my 2 and a half year old sister as she was clearly the smallest.] We think she may have been poorly from birth, or perhaps caught something in the shop as over the months that we've had her, she hadn't grown. Poor Baby:(

On a better note, Strawbs has been taking 2 small mice per week for feeding - and still acts as though she has space left for more, so I tried her on a large adult yesterday. Gobbled it down like it was nothing She's not my 'little' girl anymore! Made a decent bump on her, not too small, not too big Just thought i'd share my [relatively mundane] news with you all

Snakes grow at different rates. When I got Jasmin she was about 40' and at the time Sylar was about 200g. Now Jasmin is nearly 400g but Sylar is only 240g. Just sounds like Strawbs is a bit of a slower grower

Strawbs was born Sept of last year. So just over a year old.
I don't think so, if anything, he was a little slack with a regulated feeding regime?! That's what i don't understand. He'd go a week without feeding sometimes. As it happens, he's sold his corn now.

I feed strawbs one a week, regularly, and she doesn't often miss a feed, yet she's half the size of that corn. odd.

Did you housemate over feed? How often was that snake fed?

How old is Strawbs, btw?

He went to big toilet bowl in the sky! he probably would have had a proper burial if he was bigger. poor thing :(
