Posted - 20/08/2009 : 12:29:06 I used to be a PA/Secretary and I dealt with reception too, in my last company I worked at I didn't actually encounter any nasty clients or customers, I guess it was just luck, I loved that job, I really wish that I hadn't quit to bring up Bronny, but then again I am glad I did, otherwise I would have paid someone 3/4 of my wages to look after my daughter when I was completely capable of doing it myself, so I quit, it was a good job, reasonable pay and the staff were all nice, no bitchyness among them at all.
Them were the days. |

basic courtesy seems to have gone out the window, especially on the road!!!!
but that's another rant for another day.. |

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 18:22:03 Technically unemployed.. but i've worked on a temporary basis over 5ish years in my grandad's office when needed. receptionist/secretarial work etc.
it's bog standard training that when you answer a call, you give the necessary business name and ask who they wish to speak to , and concerning what.
So i answered the phone with the usual "good morning, r miles richards & company, how may i help you?" and this old pompus guy [typical upper class posh twerp] asked for one of our solicitors, so i asked his name and what the call was regarding and he replied with "the name's Moylwyn" or some crap, so i repeated, "lovely, and what's it regarding Moylwyn?" and he just mumbled.... SO one last time i said "sorry, couldn't quite catch that, what is it concerning?" and the cheeky git shouted down the phone "DARLING, JUST GET RALPH ON THE PHONE WILL YOU!! WE'VE BEEN FRIENDS FOR OVER 30 YEARS!"
All he had to bloody say was that he was a friend and it was a personal call.. simple.
but no, he wanted to bitch at me instead and make the call as hard work as possible.
Anyway, today was a good day so i'm over it I just get so shocked with the attitudes of some people!
Kaz - i'll keep that in mind thanks! i'd just have to figure out a way of covering the client in mouse-smell 1st!

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 16:01:38 What did they do to upset you?
You can borrow Wilbur whenever you like, but I'd have to warn you - getting a hoggy to bite is like getting a goldfish to sing |

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 08:02:51 sighhh. somehow i think it'd take a bit more venom than a hoggy to teach some of them a lesson. ragh. i hate how obnoxious people are.
nevermind, new day! in a relatively good mood, if anyone takes the wee i'll just kill with kindness. |

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 01:20:44 many people keep rear-fanged venomous snakes because you don't need a DWA lisence... so people keep hognose snakes and false water cobras etc... Go and get the people at the hognose site to set their snakes on your clients... that'll learn 'em! |
