and on the forum you can come back ages later and re-find something if you need to refer back for info- on fb stuff goes out of date and falls off the screen and then its gone- (well it is ion my non-techy world)

I'm on fb quite a bit and use the page on there, that said proper forums are better for the likes of DIY threads and rough guides to things

This. I don't come on here much nor browse the facebook page much but you guys, but you guys are nice. Much nicer than them corn folk... :P
Gmac Posted - 10/11/2012 : 13:41:21
is because the forum team clamp down very quickly when / if we see things may get out of hand lol.

The main issue is in reptile keeping its not one size fits all, there are so many ways to keep reptiles and do things heat wise, feed wise housing wise etc that there will always be but "this is the only way to do thing posts". Yes I do agree though our forums have less of that though.
rockroyal Posted - 10/11/2012 : 07:01:19
That's a very good valid point! I can't speak for this forum but over on royal python and corn snake I've not seen much of that at all when you look at the dark side now that's terrible for keyboard idiots . At the end of the day as long as the temps humidity and housing and feeding the right size food is correct then the keyboard idiots have no leg to stand on
Gmac Posted - 09/11/2012 : 23:28:25
some folks just wont use forums, to many keyboard warriors about so they have bad experiences and become afraid to ask these questions so try and muddle through unfortunately.

FB is slightly different as you can block the unwanted folks not so easy to ignore on forums though.

I wish they would close the facebook part of the king snake! Don't get my wrong social networking has its place BUT when it comes to reptiles to have a forum dedicated to one reptile is just awesome. I now spend a lot of my time between the 3 forums ( royal python/corn snake/king snake forums and giving RFUK a wide birth now I hope one day to become a moderator but only time will tell I guess :-).
Gmac Posted - 08/11/2012 : 20:40:17
thank you, although the big bosses threaten to close fb group from time to time. that would be good lol
rockroyal Posted - 08/11/2012 : 09:11:57
I don't like or use facebook its things like that! That pull people away from forums like this? So I'll keep using this forum and give facebook a BIG MISS
rockroyal Posted - 08/11/2012 : 06:37:25

It's because the facebook page is used more frequently. Lookup thekingsnake.co.uk
