Its a bit worrying that they are calling it a black rat snake even with a so called snake expert to capture it. It is the typical media reporting of a snake find though. I'm sure they are employed by the RSPCA to put people off keeping snakes and to make us sound like social outcasts |

LMAO! It's only 5ft XD how can the RSPCA not be trained to deal with common snakes at adult size?
Were they confused about the snake? I mean, there's kinda of a big visual difference ebtween a black ratsnake and a mbk XD both gorgeous though |

looks like the black rat snake is cleverly disguised as a mexican black kingsnake 
Sneaky edit, just read that apparently only rattle snakes rattle their tails. doh more misinformation all snakes tail rattle, rattle snakes just sound better :D |

Oh how awful:P Bit sad that the RSPCA officer has never seen something bigger than a kingsnake though!
