Posted - 11/06/2011 : 16:08:16 Well, a few weeks back after my Cali king x Mexi black came back after a 7 month roam around the house, she was looking rather small, and fragile, but she is actually now doing really well. She ate the first time we offered her food, and didn't the second time, 2 days later she shed, then she ate the 3rd time she was offered. It's feed day today, so I will update on if she eats this week too. She is looking a bit more plump, back up to heat, roaming around, striking happily at the tank. One question, should I leave it a lengthy period before getting her out, as she has had months and months of open space? Like a long "settling" period or would it be OK to handle now? |

If you are doing it through a vet yes a reptile vet would be the best option, give yours a call and see what they chrage for a fecal test |

Posted - 12/06/2011 : 10:27:21 you can send it to a lab, doesnt have to be done by the vet. Not sure on the cost though, have a link somewhere will look it out when i get home from work.
Or check on TCS use the search and search for fecal test labs, may work |

Posted - 12/06/2011 : 02:57:51 I thought it would be best, she has been back just over 3 weeks, and she did indeed eat earlier on too, which can only be good. I was also told to get one of those done, but do you have any idea how much they cost? Don't want to go down with not enough money if I do get one done, but so far she seems very happy, eating, drinking, she has also shed etc... |

Also may be worth getting a fecal test done to see if it has picked up any parasites on its travels. |
