Posted - 26/03/2013 : 19:47:37 Teyha was in a 2ft cube viv, but more often than not, we would find her up as high as she could get.
I decided to upgrade her viv to one that had more height than it does footprint. The best option that was in my price-range was a vivexotic arboreal viv. I chose the chameleon set up so that I could light the viv without using any space up in the viv, as her ceramic is in the viv (with bulb guard, one with tiny holes as she is rather slender) so we have used a dome with an energy bulb in it placed on the mesh for lighting.
She has already shown how much she appreciates the height by being up top as well as middle and bottom. :-) She is wrapping herself around the large 2" diameter branch that we have screwed in half way up as I am typing this :-)
Her chosen place to sleep every night and to nap in the day is curled up in the plant pot of the fake cheese-plant that adorns the centre of the viv. (Incidentally we have 3x3ft tall fake cheese-plants that were £30 new which, after a quick wipe down of the leaves, are "as new" if anyone is interested)
The viv specs are: Width 575mm, Depth 490mm, Height 915mm
Here is a photo :-)
Let me know what you think? :-) |
