Posted - 27/07/2012 : 10:54:09 My Florida shed, but it was my first bad one probably my fault, I did not mist his rub, got home from work and found this
 . So I run him a bath
. And let him swim through my hand a few time, the shed came away in pieces
. But got it all off him, eye cap and tail as well.....and he is all shiney and bright again
. so there you go |

Posted - 27/07/2012 : 15:07:34 Yes Brian, I have 5 SSPCA snakey rehomers. My first Corn (Big~T) was a take over from the neighbour. The kids got bored with him and was being neglected.
Mirkey the Grey Rat was a terror left on the shelf for over a year. I had him tamed within a week. All he needed was to get the tagging and head slapping out of his system. It was worth it as he's a real character.

Posted - 27/07/2012 : 13:19:56 I guess I've been really lucky with my lot regarding shedding. Instead of a bath (which freaked them out when I tried it) I give the option of damp towels in a cat litter tray or if they are dooking in the water dish I'll top the tray up with tepid water. The only major problem I've had was with my rehomed neglected Carpet Python, Vambo. I'd only had him a few weeks when he went into blue.
Story and pics already posted on the CSF: http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23394
Now he's putting on the beef, up from 1100 to 1,450 grams, and taken to spending days submerged & soaking in his cat-pool. Next shed should go well, I hope. |
