Me tring to get him from rub to viv,and now i know what musk is,his vent had a red lump pop out when he musked but it soon disapered.
i will post more once he's settled |

No, only joking. Mexican Blacks are fine once they settle down.
Hope the prolapse doesn't happen again. It is unusual but I wouldn't worry too much yet. |

thanks alison,not so worried now but will keep a eye on it.Could be a combination of things causing it as the whole care plan was wrong,no stat so temps were wrong,feed in the viv on wood shavings,lack of water and exercise,so combine all that he might just of been bunged up and generaly out of shape.
He seems bit bit more chilled this mornings,had my hands in there puting in some basic items for him and he just stayed back and watched me instead of striking at me like last night.
Im sooooo happy with him

hopefully it's just a one-off as he musked. if he's not been handled much by the previous owners (and from what you've said it's quite likely!) he might just be lacking muscle tone, as he moves around more and is handles more his muscle tone will improve and a prolapse should rectify itself. if it becomes a permanent problem a rep specialist vet might want to put him under GA and put a stitch in to stop it happening again. (worst case scenario - don't panic just yet!!!) |

Im not intirely sure what the vets will administer, Probably anti-inflamitary. Sometimes it can be a serous problem. I hope it was just a one off. Sorry I can't be of anymore help to you.

sorry meltos,was not ignoring your post,we both osted at the same time.I seen a bit about prolapses a while back,if it continues what could a vet do to correct it and is there anything i can do to help it. |

lol all part of the experience,did'nt smell first of all then he done it in the viv and nearly choked,thats when he went for me when i put my hand in to clean it.
kaz,should i be worried about the vent,it was ok before and after,even stopped at my rep shop and they said he was a healthy looking king.

Keep an eye on the Prolapse, It could of been a one off, But make sure, If it keeps occuring, A trip a Specialist vets would go down a treat.
